JOB TITLE: Senior Discipline Engineer - Civil/Structural
LOCATION:North Bay, ON
DEPARTMENT:Engineering
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
To provide engineering designs and support as required by clients and Cementation operations.
•Provide civil / structural design and engineering services on projects involving civil and structural construction and installation;
•Design of buildings and equipment which incorporate client suggestions and future maintenance requirements.
•Provide client with engineering support and contractor supervision during initial surface and underground construction.
•Provide internal and external clients with engineering solutions in a timely, efficient and cost effective manner.
•Prepare specification and procurement packages;
•Provide engineering project management, supplier co-ordination and client communication;
•Check engineering drawings;
•Assist the contracting group with business development and support, as well as tendering work and estimation;
•Sign and seal civil / structural drawings for construction purposes;
•Conduct and signoff on the PDR / PHR requirements per client and / or MOL guidelines; and
•Provide backup and support to the Lead Discipline Engineer - Civil/Structural during times of absence or when circumstances dictate.
•Provide engineering supervision of on site construction of structural steel and concrete
•Provide support to manager of technical services in ensuring drawings are completed on schedule.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil or Structural Engineering and a registered Professional Engineer Licensed to Practice in the Province of Ontario. Licensure in other jurisdictions with reciprocity with the Professional Engineers of Ontario will be considered.
Experience: Minimum 10 years of engineering design experience in an industrial setting (preferably mining).
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
Must work with clients, subcontractors and internally with the engineering, business development and operations groups. The position requires knowledge of provincial and federal mining acts and regulations.
