JOB TITLE: Mine Electrician
LOCATION:Various Sites Across Canada
DEPARTMENT:
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Work in cooperation and good communication with fellow workers to work safely and follow regulations, codes, job procedures and instructions of Chief Electrician and Superintendent. Under the direction of the Chief Electrician and Superintendent, perform the installation, maintenance and repair of all surface and underground site electrical equipment, including but not limited to:
- All underground power distribution
- All underground electrical equipment related to sinking and development
- All underground instrumentation
- Instrumentation relating to hoist services
Tradesmen must ensure they have a good understanding of electrical systems, electrical procedures and maintenance programs. Must be able to prepare specifications and assist procurement and undertake proper storage of adequate inventories of required equipment and parts. Must be able to maintain and update all required log books, and report injuries as soon as possible, no matter how slight, to the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Journeyperson Electrician Ticket
Experience: 4 years related experience
