JOB TITLE: Shaft Miner
LOCATION:Canadian Sites
DEPARTMENT:
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
In coordination with other crew members the Shaft Miner follows job procedures and regulations to perform the tasks required to sink the shaft.
- Ensure that they understand the company policies and works in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
- Ensures that all equipment is adequately provided with operating supplies throughout the shift.
- Works closely with other shaft crew members to create and maintain a synergy required to accomplish the shift lineup in the cycle.
- Ensures applicable procedures and work standards for all tasks are understood adhered to and complied at all time for all such work.
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in their workplace.
- Utilize the 5 point safety system as specified within the site safety management system.
Perform any one or more of these tasks:
- Concrete Installation
- Steel Installation
- Drilling and Blasting
- Ground Support
- Mucking
- Construction
- Other duties required for the shaft sinking project
.
- Performs all tasks in a safe manner as required under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Cementation Safety Management System.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Full Basic Common Core
Experience: 3 years related work experience
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:
- Site Orientation
- WHMIS
- Fall Arrest
- Lifesaver TM-60 (self rescuer)
- Registration in Common Core
